A well-travelled, multilingual New Zealander, Philip R. Weiser moved to Bermuda after finishing his studies in Lausanne, Switzerland. Later he progressed to the United States and was awarded a job as an executive of an International Hotel corporation. After several years and promotions, Philip later immigrated to the United Kingdom and was then appointed as the International Marketing Director of one of the worlds largest hotel groups. Inherently an entrepreneur, and with a valuable wealth of industry knowledge, Philip launched a new company based in the exclusive areas of central London dealing with rentals of furnished luxury apartments and penthouse suits. Philip understood that this was a niche sector of the hospitality industry and a convenient alternative to luxury hotels – this new venture turned out to be a great success due to the growing demand.
Following his accomplishment, Philip and his young family settled in the South of France, where he delved into the world of luxury real estate development and dealings. In 1995 Philip founded Carlton International, the first brand of the Carlton Group, now present across the Côte d’Azur, and Portugal. Providing clients with Property Management, Seasonal Rentals, asset acquisition and specialising in the sale of luxury homes and villas across the French Riviera.
Frances Hendry, Managing Director of Carlton Signature, brings a wealth of international experience and a highly personalised approach to property management. Originally from the United Kingdom, she trained in diet and stress management before relocating to Malta, where she became a partner in the development of a successful restaurant business.
Following a return to England, Frances developed her expertise in property renovation and interior decoration, working on projects both in London and beyond. In the early 1990s, she moved to the South of France to pursue property investment opportunities. Her insight and attention to detail quickly led to requests from homeowners across the French Riviera.
Since then, she has provided bespoke property management, renovation and decoration services, assisting an international clientele with the care, enhancement and long-term stewardship of their homes.
Laura took her first steps in property management over fifteen years ago, as a housekeeper at a luxury estate on Cap d’Antibes — a defining experience that sparked her passion for high-end property management, anticipating needs and an uncompromising attention to detail. In 2013, Frances Hendry entrusted her with the full supervision of a remarkable bastide in Valbonne, marking a turning point in her career. She gradually took on all aspects of Carlton’s management operations: day-to-day running, contractor coordination, budget oversight and client relations. She also developed strong expertise in renovation, managing projects from start to finish. Today, she oversees Carlton’s entire client portfolio in close collaboration with Frances Hendry, delivering a personalised, rigorous and proactive approach — ensuring the lasting value of their clients’ properties and complete peace of mind.
